BHS (Bittersweet High School)

Nothing is like the bittersweet sights and sounds of  BHS when you enter.  Outside I can always the sound of construction workers digging into the ground with their massive machines that take up the sophmore-junior parking lot.  When I enter the door at 7:59 a.m. im drowned with orange and black and our Pioneer logo.  Basicallly our whole school is colored orange and black in honor of our beloved Pioneers.  When I see the logo I remember the feeling of standing in a smoke conjested tunnel with my adreneline at an alltime high.  When I arrive at class barely beating the bell, I see rooms with the same posters I've seen since kindergarten.  The posters say stupid phrases about doing your best.  I then remember I had homework due. My mind starts to wonder off into why I'm taking AP classes. I wonder if it's worth it to work my butt off for lower grades. I look forward to the average smell of the cafeteria.  No matter what gross food we are having it always smells the same. And of course it's painted orange and black.  At the end of my grueling 5 hour football practice, I'm relieved the day is over, but ready to get back at it tommorow.

9/11

The propaganda of Al Queda is poisoning the people of Arab nations minds. Osama Bin Laden and other terrorist organazation leaders transalate the muslim holy book, or the "Quaran" the wrong way.  These leaders try to convince suicide bombers that they will go to a heaven and meet beautiful virgin woman.  These leaders also tell there followers that we (U.S. citizens) are the devil's minyans.  In Osama's final letter to the 9/11 terrorists he said that "everything in their country is a trick from the devil."  In order to stop these terrorists we need to put down the false propaganda being put in the heads of the terrorists.

I am..

I am a beast and a dog.

I wonder if I will ever stop wetting the bed.

I hear strange sounds.

I see beautiful pieces of butter toast.

I want a real boy.

I am a beast and a dog.

I pretend I am an elephant.

I feel mentally instable.

I touch the sky

I worry about crazy fire flies.

I cry when I look at onions.

I am a beast and a dog.

I understand that people eat.

I say Micheal Jordan is the greatest.

I dream that i will work on toilets.

I try to run over Childress.

I hope for world peace.

I am a beast and a dog.

The Catcher in the Rye

For my classic novel that I was supposed to read, I picked The Catcher in the Rye.  I enjoyed the book, which is unusual for me when I read books.  Its even rarer for me to enjoy older books.  I think the reason I liked it is because it came from the point of view of somebody who actually acts likes somebody our age.
The Catcher in the Rye is a story about a guy that was going to a prep school in Pennsylvania. The story takes us on his journey to New York. It's a coming of age story, but I really didn't like the book because of the story.  I honestly only liked the book because it always told what the main character was thinking in detail.  Whether it be about Preps, Gays, Girls, or any other subject, it always explained exactly what the guy was thinking. You couldn't tell that it was an old guy writing the book.  I really liked that. The main character used a cuss word in probably 99 percent of his sentences, but that doesn't bother me because you know that's what he was really thinking.
I really enjoyed this book, which came as a big surprise thinking it would be a boring classic novel. Maybe in the future I will give classic novels more of a chance.

goons lurkin'

I decided to do a report on the song Goons Lurkin' by the artist Plies.  Plies is a hip-hop/ rap artist.  I like Plies because I like his voice and the beats that he raps to.  He is probably my favorite rapper in the modern era.
The only down side of Plies is that his raps are incredibly explicit.  In the songs Goons Lurkin' Plies uses many different explicits like, for example, the f-bomb, the "n" word multiple times, and the p word.  The song that i picked was a song about killing other people in the middle of the night.  "5 in the morning nobody out but us, everybody asleep but we gunna wake this city up" are the first lines in the rap, so you can kinda tell whats coming.  I'm not going to go into detail about the rest of the song because its all just about the murder.
I really don't like Plies' lyrics to his songs because they are so dirty.  But the beats and the way the song is set up really appeal to me.

IS JOSE BAUTIST A CHEATER?

The question that everybody in baseball is asking these days is, "Do you believe in Jose Bautista?"  It made me think about this a little bit more after I read the article "Do You Believe In Jose Bautista?" by Joe Posnanki.  Since the beginning of 2010, Jose Bautista has more then doubled his career home run total and transformed into baseball’s most dangerous slugger. How has this dramatic change come about? Steroids? HGH (Human Growth Hormone)? Or is it purely just a new found desire to be great?
By the time Jose Bautista turned 29 years old, he had been cut or traded six times. By the time he turns 31 he could become the first player in a decade to hit 50 home runs in consecutive seasons.  The sad thing about this incredible turn around is that experts around the game of baseball like to point to steroid as the cause of his new found power.  In his article about the slugger, Joe Posnanski disagrees with baseball’s experts.  I agree with Posnanski because Jose Bautista has been tested numerous times for Steroids and HGH and one hundred percent of the time the result has come out negative.  I don’t like people who always look at the negative side of things.  Why can’t these doubters just accept the fact that there is finally a player that didn’t cheat to win?
I really enjoyed reading this article on Jose Bautista, not only because he is my favorite baseball player.  I also liked how the author made the doubters look like complete fools.  The article was a great tribute to one of the best sluggers the game has ever seen.
